Micralyne opens Nanotech Showcase in Edmonton, Alberta

The 2008 Alberta Nanotech Showcase opened up with an introduction from Micralyne Inc. CEO, Chris Lumb whom introduced the Honourable Doug Horner, Minister of Advanced Education and Technology. Micralyne Inc., a world leading independent MEMS Manufacturer, was present for the two day Nanotech showcase that was presented by nanoAlberta in partnership with the Alberta Ingenuity Fund and the National Institute of Nanotechnology.

November 28, 2008 (FPRC) -- Dr. Steve Jakeway, Product Line Manager at Micralyne also participated in a session about Energy and showcased Micralyne’s experience with MEMS Devices for Oil and Gas Sensors, Power Devices and Environment Sensors. In addition Dr. Jakeway spoke about Micralyne’s technical capabilities for MEMS Development and MEMS Manufacturing.


Other speakers such as Dr. Michael Brett, Professor at the University of Alberta, spoke about such technologies as Glancing Angle Deposition (GLAD), which is a proprietary method to deposit engineered nanostructured thin films for next generation nano and micro devices.

The two-day event brings together Alberta's small-tech researchers, companies and special-purpose agencies and organizations, to share and exchange timely information on their work, their businesses, special programs and initiatives, challenges and opportunities.
