Mobinex and VMG Media Deploys On-Device Portals for Mobile Operators in Vietnam

November 27, 2008 (FPRC) -- Mobinex and VMG Media JSC today announced that they have signed a cooperation agreement to deliver on-device portals and rich mobile applications for Vietnamese mobile market.
VMG Media, as the leader media and mobile services company in Vietnam, will create on-device portals for Vietnamese mobile operators, using Mobinex Smartface Platform. Partnership between Mobinex and VMG enables mobile operators, service providers and third party developers to benefit rich mobile applications such as mobile TV, media downloads, mobile video, and visual voice mail. Interactive user interface, user friendly and compelling design of Smartface powered on-device portals will increase the usage of mobile services.
Vietnam, as being one of the fastest growing mobile markets in the world with 52.4 million mobile subscribers, is witnessing major subscriber growth going from 4 million users by the end of 2004. Despite the high annual increase in mobile penetration, ARPU (mobile operator’s Average Revenue per User) is around 6$, which is relatively low compared to rest of Asia. In an attempt to increase ARPU rates, mobile operators are keen to encourage the usage of mobile services and related on-device solutions.
