November 26, 2008 (FPRC) -- Pasadena, CA — Security personnel patrol and inspect property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and illegal activity. They use radio and telephone communications to call for assistance from police, fire, or emergency medical services. They provide vital services of securing important data and property for different types of companies. EmploymentCrossing, one of the world’s largest job boards, has launched PhysicalSecurityCrossing (www.physicalsecuritycrossing.com), a new site that caters to the job-search needs of thousands of security job seekers.

As part of the EmploymentCrossing job-site family, PhysicalSecurityCrossing seeks to list every job for security professionals in the United States in one convenient location. Using proprietary technology, PhysicalSecurityCrossing monitors job postings for security professionals on other job websites and from other sources to display every job for security professionals that it can find.

“PhysicalSecurityCrossing’s goal is nothing less than to show security job seekers every job available,” says A. Harrison Barnes, founder and CEO of PhysicalSecurityCrossing.

“The demand for security professionals is bound to grow in the coming years as concern about crime, vandalism, and terrorism increases the need for security. Since 9/11, demand for these professionals has escalated to new heights,” adds Barnes.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the nation’s security employment rate is projected to increase by more than 17% over the decade 2006-2016. The California Employment Development Department revealed state data that projected a growth of 22% over the 2004-2014 decade, while the Arizona Department of Economic Security estimated a growth of 24% of security positions in Arizona. The recent good news is that the US Department of Homeland Security is planning to create new border security jobs in the wake of increased illegal immigration and smuggling. New border security jobs are to be created on the borders of Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas.

According to Payscale.com, security jobs are paid handsomely on an hourly basis with the security officer being paid $10.99, the security guard is paid $10.24, and the personal security specialist has a pay of $19.88. Security consultants are the highest paid in this category, their pay being $34.30 on an hourly basis.

“The overall job market is suffering, and security professionals are bearing the brunt too. But there are several jobs available even now which are unadvertised, but active. PhysicalSecurityCrossing is the solution to find these hidden physical security jobs. The site aims to list all types of security jobs, as well as to provide details on career advancement opportunities and employment information related to a variety of industries,” adds Barnes.

PhysicalSecurityCrossing was launched to help security professionals sort out the opportunities that they might not find out about otherwise. Unlike other job boards, the site focuses solely on security jobs, and it doesn’t charge employers to post jobs.

“There is an astonishing number of security job openings out there. We want to find them all,” Barnes says.

PhysicalSecurityCrossing charges $29.95 a month to view its job-opening research. The security job board also offers a free, seven-day trial to allow security job seekers to familiarize themselves with the service.
