Investec Real Estate Companies will break ground on Gene Autry Plaza, a new 60,000 sq. ft. shopping center in Palm Springs, Calif. The new ground-up $17.5 million development, which is located at the southeast corner of Ramon and Gene Autry Trail (Highway 111), will feature Smart & Final and Staples, 11,500 sq. ft. of shop space, and a bronze statue of Gene Autry. Completion is expected in April 2009. The addition of Gene Autry Plaza to Investec’s retail portfolio brings the company’s total to more than 2,000,000 square feet of retail space in California, valued at over $600 million.  Rawson, Blum & Leon and West Valley Properties Form New Company RBL Real Estate, Inc. to Acquire & Develop Retail and Commercial Projects in Western U.S.
West Valley Properties, Inc. of Los Altos, Calif., and Rawson, Blum & Leon of San Francisco, Calif. have formed RBL Real Estate, Inc. to acquire, develop and manage retail and commercial properties in the western U.S. The new company will also assist financial institutions and investors in managing, stabilizing, repositioning and/or disposing of their real estate holdings. In addition, RBL Real Estate has the ability to recapitalize existing projects in order to complete development or redevelopment objectives. With more than 4 million square feet of combined property under ownership and management, both companies have the appropriate staffing and resources, as well as previous experience in economic down cycles, to effectively navigate development and leasing issues in order to maximize value.  KKE Architects Completes Three Shopping Centers for Hopkins Real Estate Group in Southern California
KKE Architects has completed three shopping centers located in southern California on behalf of Hopkins Real Estate Group (HREG) in Irvine. The retail centers are: Imperial Promenade in La Habra; 47th Street Pavilion in Palmdale; and Talega Village Center in San Clemente. For all three projects, KKE provided the conceptual and schematic designs, design development, city entitlements, construction drawings and construction administration.  Workforce Housing Project Has Broken Ground in Rancho Cucamonga; KTGY Selected as Architect
KTGY was named the architect of Villaggio at Route 66, a 166-unit mixed-income apartment community located in Rancho Cucamonga. The project, which has broken ground, will consist of one, two and three-story buildings with spacious two and three-bedroom units, as well as a 5,600-square-foot community building, two tot lots, a pool and fitness center, business center, and an education center for residents. Grading is currently underway and foundations and slabs are expected to be poured next month.  KTGY Names Michael Vickers for Business Development in Denver Office
